What payment methods does Trip1 accept?
Trip1 lets you book over 3 million hotels worldwide and pay with cryptocurrency or traditional payment methods. Whether you hold Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDC - you can complete your booking in minutes.
Cryptocurrency Payments
Trip1 accepts cryptocurrency payments processed by CoinGate, a MiCA-licensed crypto payment provider based in Europe. CoinGate is authorized as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider under the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) by the Bank of Lithuania.
When you select crypto at checkout, you’ll see a CoinGate payment window with a QR code and wallet address. Simply send the exact amount from your wallet, and your booking is confirmed once the transaction is verified on the blockchain.

Pay with Bitcoin (BTC)
Bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency for hotel bookings on Trip1. You can pay on-chain or via the Lightning Network for near-instant confirmation and lower fees. Simply scan the QR code at checkout with any Bitcoin wallet (e.g. BlueWallet, Muun, Phoenix, Electrum) and confirm the transaction.
Pay with Ethereum (ETH)
Ethereum payments are supported on multiple networks, including Layer 2 solutions like Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism. Using a Layer 2 network means lower gas fees and faster confirmation times compared to Ethereum mainnet.
Pay with USDC (Stablecoin)
USDC is a dollar-pegged stablecoin and is available on 7 networks at Trip1 checkout - more than any other supported coin. It’s ideal if you want to avoid price volatility between the time you initiate payment and when it’s confirmed. USDC is fully MiCA-compliant within the EU.
What About USDT (Tether)?
As of March 2025, USDT is no longer available for payments through CoinGate. This is due to EU MiCA regulations, which require stablecoins to hold an electronic money (e-money) license to operate in Europe. Tether has not obtained this license. USDC is the recommended stablecoin alternative - it’s widely available on exchanges and supported on the same networks.
