About Olympic Games LA 2028
Los Angeles hosts the Summer Olympics for a third time in 2028, after 1932 and 1984. The opening ceremony on 14 July is shared between the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Exposition Park and SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, the first time two stadiums have co-hosted an Olympic opening.
Events run across the wider LA basin and beyond, from Long Beach to the San Fernando Valley, with a few as far as Oklahoma City. The closing ceremony returns to the Coliseum on 30 July, the same arena that closed the 1932 and 1984 Games.
LA28 leans on existing venues rather than new builds, so much of the city you already know becomes the backdrop. Plan around traffic and the expanding Metro network, and base yourself near a rail line to move between sessions.
