Can I use a crypto treasury to pay for corporate travel?

In short

  • Yes. trip1 accepts payments from any wallet or exchange, including corporate treasuries, multisigs, and custody solutions.
  • USDC on a Layer 2 network (Polygon, Base, Arbitrum) is popular for predictable dollar-value spending and low fees.
  • Every booking records the coin, amount, and transaction hash - export from My Bookings to match against your treasury accounting.

How treasury payments work on trip1

trip1 doesn't distinguish between personal and corporate wallets - any wallet that can send to the CoinGate invoice address on the correct network completes the booking.

That means multisig wallets (Safe/Gnosis Safe, Fireblocks, Copper), exchange treasuries (Coinbase Custody, Kraken Institutional), and hardware setups all work.

Multisig considerations

Multisig approvals can take minutes to hours to collect required signatures. Start the trip1 checkout only after you're ready to send, since the CoinGate payment window is typically 15 minutes.

Alternative: prepare the transaction outside the CoinGate window, gather signatures, then broadcast immediately after opening a fresh trip1 invoice.

Choosing the right coin for treasury payments

  • USDC on Polygon, Base, or Arbitrum: predictable dollar amounts, fees under a cent, near-instant confirmation.
  • Bitcoin (on-chain or Lightning): great if your treasury holds BTC as reserve; on-chain works for large amounts, Lightning for smaller.
  • Ethereum: use a Layer 2 to keep fees down; L1 also works.

Tracking treasury travel spending

Every trip1 booking includes the coin, network, amount, on-chain transaction hash, and fiat equivalent locked at checkout. Match these to your wallet outflows or treasury software (Coinbook, Cryptio, TRES, etc.) for automated reconciliation.

Important: Verify the wallet address and network on the CoinGate invoice before signing a multisig transaction - cross-network sends can't be reversed.
