The Christmas market in front of Charlottenburg Palace, the largest surviving royal palace in Berlin, is one of the most romantic Christmas markets in Berlin. The stalls fill the forecourt of the Baroque palace, which is lit up in changing colours after dark. Published listings give 2026 dates of 23 November to 27 December.
The market is known for its crafts and food, and the setting feels grander and more spacious than the city-centre markets. The palace itself, built for Queen Sophie Charlotte at the end of the 17th century, can be visited during the day.
It is a little further out than the central markets, but well connected by bus and U-Bahn.
Pro Tip: Tour the palace interiors in the afternoon, then step out as the facade lights come on. The palace gardens are free to walk in and make a peaceful break from the stalls.
