Miniatur Wunderland is the world's largest model railway - over 16,000 metres of H0-scale track spread across 1,700 square metres of exhibition space inside a Speicherstadt warehouse. Opened in 2001 by twin brothers Frederik and Gerrit Braun, the exhibit now covers 11 themed sections including Hamburg, the Alps, Scandinavia, Italy, USA and a functioning miniature Knuffingen Airport where planes take off and land every 30 seconds.
