Nobody in the usual sense. Best Western has been a membership association since it was founded in 1946: every hotel is owned and run independently, and its owners pay to use the name and the booking system. The parent is now called BWH Hotels, which also runs WorldHotels and SureStay. In Britain the name is licensed to a separate members' cooperative, Best Western GB.

Not as a whole. Most Best Western hotels are midscale, and the name is best known on roadside and motorway hotels. The top of it is Best Western Premier and the BW Premier Collection, with WorldHotels above that, and that is what this page collects: every hotel here is four or five star.

They are three steps of the same brand. Best Western is the midscale core, Plus adds more space and facilities, and Premier is the upscale tier, usually full service with a restaurant and often a spa. Only Premier is on this page, alongside the collection brands.

Independent hotels that use Best Western's booking system but keep their own names, such as Bunratty Castle Hotel in County Clare or The Welcombe near Stratford-upon-Avon. BW Premier Collection is the upscale half, and BW Signature Collection is the same idea one step down. Most of the country houses and spa hotels on this list sit in one or the other.

A collection of independent upscale hotels that BWH bought in 2019, in four tiers: Luxury, Elite, Distinctive and Crafted.
