Availability depends on your destination and travel dates.
RIU doesn't accept crypto payments directly. trip1 is the bridge - you pay with crypto, CoinGate (trip1's MiCA-licensed payment provider) handles the conversion, and the hotel receives regular currency. Your booking works exactly like any other hotel reservation.
Book a RIU hotel with crypto - step by step
Step 1: Search for your RIU hotel
Go to trip1.com, enter your destination, check-in and check-out dates, and the number of guests. Type "Riu" into the search box, or search a beach destination such as Punta Cana or Playa del Carmen.
Step 2: Select your room
Pick the Riu Hotels & Resorts property you want and choose a room type. Review the price, cancellation policy, and what's included before continuing to checkout.
Step 3: Enter guest details
Fill in the guest name (as it appears on their ID), email address, and any special requests. The confirmation email will be sent to the email you provide here.
Step 4: Pay with crypto
Select "Pay with crypto" at checkout. CoinGate's payment window will show a QR code and wallet address. Send the exact amount from any crypto wallet. Once the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, your booking is confirmed and you'll receive a confirmation email.

Loyalty points and check-in
Because the reservation is made through trip1 rather than RIU directly, it usually does not earn RIU loyalty points or count towards elite status. Check-in itself is unchanged: bring the ID that matches the guest name on the booking, and the hotel treats it like any prepaid reservation.
Cancellations and refunds
Each rate shows its cancellation policy before you pay. If you cancel a refundable rate within the window, trip1 refunds you to your original payment method. Refunds are calculated in the fiat amount you paid, so the crypto you receive back reflects the exchange rate at refund time.
