The Christmas market on the Marktplatz sits on the banks of the Inn river, with the colourful houses of the Mariahilf district and the Nordkette mountains across the water. Its stalls are built to look like a Tyrolean village, and it is the best Innsbruck Christmas market for families.

Children can enjoy a nostalgic carousel, puppet theatre and storytelling sessions, and the market is known for a giant tree decorated with Swarovski crystals. It is only a two-minute walk from the Old Town market.

The 2026 dates had not been confirmed at the time of writing; the market usually opens in mid to late November and runs until shortly before Christmas or into early January.
