Bastian Falkenroth cooks a produce-led menu inside Munich's street art museum, in a converted transformer station a few minutes from Marienplatz. The dinner tasting menu is 119 euros, pairings 70 to 175, lunch dishes 5 to 65, and there is a compulsory water charge of 10 euros a head. The natural wine list runs to roughly 1,200 bins and is the most opinionated in the city.
One correction, because the restaurant's own website has not caught up. Mural holds no Michelin star in the 2025 or 2026 guide. It held one from 2020 to 2024 along with a green star, both lapsed, and the site still advertises them. It is on this list for the cooking and the room, not the accolade. Hours are lunch Wednesday to Saturday 12:00 to 14:00, dinner Wednesday to Saturday 18:45 to 23:00, closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
Two practical warnings. Last dinner orders are at 20:45, which is unusually early and ruins a late booking. And the museum setting means an industrial room with hard surfaces, so it is loud when full. The attached Vinothek, open Thursday to Saturday 14:00 to 16:00, takes no reservations at all and is the best walk-in fallback in the Altstadt.
Pro Tip: If dinner is booked out, walk into the Vinothek between 14:00 and 16:00 on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday. You get the same wine thinking and a few dishes for a fraction of 119 euros, with no reservation and no 20:45 deadline.
