The Oludeniz Blue Lagoon sits inside the Oludeniz Tabiat Parkı, a state-managed nature reserve 15 km south of Fethiye Harbour. The lagoon itself is a shallow horseshoe of turquoise water sheltered by a pine-topped sand spit, running behind the open-sea pebble strip of Belcekiz Beach. Water inside the lagoon stays flat even when the Mediterranean outside is rough, which is why 'Ölüdeniz' translates as 'Dead Sea' in Turkish. Entry to the lagoon side runs 150 TRY per pedestrian and 750 TRY per car in 2026, payable in Lira only at the Tabiat Parkı gate. Belcekiz Beach itself is free and delivers the same water clarity from the open side. Water is clearest before 11:00 when surface chop is minimal; parking fills by 10:00 in July and August. Park hours run roughly 08:00 to 20:00 in summer and close earlier in winter. Pebbles are coarse in places, so water shoes save your feet.

Pro Tip: Arrive by 08:30 to photograph the lagoon before the first paraglider canopies land on the beach. Pay the lagoon entry only if you plan to walk the sand spit itself - the postcard aerial view is captured from the Ovacık ridge road above, where you can pull over for free.
