Ölüdeniz, Ölüdeniz Caddesi, Fethiye/Muğla, Türkiye
Tandem paragliding from Babadağ Mountain is Fethiye's signature adventure and one of the most photographed activities on the Turkish coast. The Babadağ Teleferik cable car, which opened in 2021, lifts pilots and passengers from Ovacık up to launch platforms at 1,200m, 1,700m and the 1,969m summit in about 15 minutes. Flights last 30 to 45 minutes and land directly on Belcekiz Beach at Ölüdeniz, glide path passing over the Blue Lagoon. 2026 tandem prices run 4,000 to 6,000 TRY per person depending on launch altitude and whether GoPro footage is included. Sightseer-only cable car return tickets cost 890 TRY adult, 660 TRY student. Under Turkish Civil Aviation Authority (SHGM) rules, pregnant women are strictly prohibited, minimum age is 4 to 6 depending on operator, and maximum passenger weight is 100 to 110 kg. Morning launches (07:00 to 11:00) run in the smoothest air before midday thermals build, and operators cancel and refund when winds exceed limits.
Pro Tip: Book 48 hours ahead in April to June and September to October, and a full week ahead in July and August. Confirm your travel insurance covers paragliding before you fly - the UK GHIC does not apply in Turkey, and many standard policies exclude tandem flight.
