80331 Munich-Altstadt-Lehel, Germany
Tohru Nakamura cooks a Japanese-German menu in a sixteenth-century Altstadt building and holds three Michelin stars in the 2026 guide, one of only two Munich restaurants at that level. The menu costs 360 euros per person with pairings extra, and there is no shorter option and no a la carte.
Service runs Tuesday to Saturday as a single 19:00 sitting, latest arrival 20:00, closed Sunday and Monday. Two 2026 breaks catch people out: it is shut 31 August to 14 September and again 11 to 18 October, which removes the entire first week of Oktoberfest. Slots are released every Monday for three months ahead and go quickly, so set a reminder rather than browsing hopefully. The phone line takes calls Tuesday to Saturday, 14:00 to 18:00.
Know what you are committing to. There are 27 covers a night, dinner runs about three and a half hours, tables for two are no longer offered so couples share a four-top, and cancelling inside 48 hours costs 450 euros per person. That last figure is higher than the meal deposit at most three-star restaurants in Europe and it is not negotiable.
Pro Tip: Book the release window, not the restaurant. Slots drop every Monday for the date three months out, so work backwards from your travel dates and be on the site that morning. If you miss it, Alois and Sparkling Bistro are far easier to get into at a fraction of the money.
