May to September is the best time to visit Bratislava, with warm days for old-town wandering and Danube boat trips. December brings a beloved Christmas market on Hlavne Namestie, and October brings the Little Carpathians wine harvest and open cellars.
Bus 61 runs from M. R. Stefanik Airport (BTS) to Bratislava's main train station (Hlavna Stanica) in about 20 minutes for around 1.20 EUR. Taxis and Bolt cost 15-25 EUR; from Vienna Airport (VIE), FlixBus or Slovak Lines coaches reach Bratislava in about an hour.
Bratislava's compact old town is best explored on foot; the whole historic centre can be walked in under 30 minutes. For sights further out, DPB trams, buses, and trolleybuses cover the city with cheap 15/30/60-minute tickets, and Bolt is available for door-to-door trips.
