Security at DTW
Check whether your airline departs from McNamara or Evans before heading to security. Use the airport’s terminal information to plan your drop-off and route to your gate.
Official DTW airport informationCheckpoint locations
- McNamara Terminal ticketing lobby
- McNamara parking garage bridge
- Westin hotel
- Evans Terminal ticketing lobby
Locations listed by Security Wait Times. The feed supplies an airport-wide reading, not individual checkpoint waits or opening hours. Confirm your checkpoint with the airport.
A shorter line starts with a little planning.
Leave room for the rest
Security is only part of your airport journey. Allow time for check-in, bag drop and getting to your gate. Follow your airline’s arrival and boarding guidance.
Check your terminal
Queues can vary between checkpoints and change before you arrive. These readings are a snapshot, not a guarantee of your own wait.
Arrive ready
Check the TSA’s current guidance for identification and carry-on items before packing.
