What happens to my booking during a system outage?
In short
- A system outage does not cancel your booking - confirmed trip1 reservations are stored and stay valid even if the site is temporarily down.
- Your confirmation email and crypto transaction hash are your proof of booking and payment.
- If you paid but did not get a confirmation, wait a short while, then contact trip1 support with your transaction hash before rebooking.
A website going down right after you have paid is unsettling. In almost every case your booking is safe, and here is how to confirm it and what to do if something looks off.
Your confirmed booking is safe
Once trip1 confirms your booking, it is stored on our systems and with the hotel. A temporary outage of the website or app does not delete or cancel it. When the system is back, your booking will still be there.
If you paid but did not see a confirmation
Crypto payments are recorded on the blockchain, so your payment is not lost even if the page failed to load. Give it a little time for the confirmation email to arrive, since blockchain confirmations and email can lag during heavy load.
Important: Do not rebook or pay again until you have checked for a confirmation email and contacted trip1 support. Paying twice can be hard to reverse with crypto, so confirm first.
What to do during an outage
Step 1 - Check your email
Look for your trip1 confirmation email, including your spam or promotions folders. This is your proof that the booking went through.
Step 2 - Save your transaction hash
Find the transaction hash from your wallet for the payment you made. This lets trip1 confirm your payment on-chain.
Step 3 - Contact trip1 support
If you still cannot see a confirmation, contact trip1 support with your transaction hash and the hotel and dates you booked. We will locate your booking or payment and sort it out.
