The best sunset view in Ibiza is not the famous one at San Antonio - it's from Cala d'Hort, a small west-facing cove with a direct sightline to Es Vedra, a 413-metre limestone sea stack that rises from the water 2 km offshore. The combination of the islet silhouetted against the orange sky and the relatively quiet cove (far fewer people than San Antonio) makes this the most naturally dramatic sunset spot on the island.
The beach at Cala d'Hort is small - around 200 m of dark sand and pebble - and the beach restaurants charge restaurant prices. The car park above the beach fills up 90 minutes before sunset from June through September. The viewpoint from the car park ridge itself is equally good and free to access.
Pro Tip: Arrive 90 minutes before sunset to secure a spot on the beach rather than the car park. The light changes from gold to amber to deep red over about 45 minutes as it hits Es Vedra - later in the sequence is better than earlier, so take your time arriving.
