Kühtai stands at 2,020 metres, making it the highest ski village in Austria and the safest bet for snow among the best ski slopes near Innsbruck in a thin winter. Slope 6, the Dreiseen run under the Drei-Seen-Bahn chairlift, is the long one: 4 kilometres with 450 metres of descent, wide enough to carry speed and open above the treeline the whole way down. The ski area totals 49.8 kilometres of runs, 31 percent of them graded difficult, and 80 snow cannons cover 91 percent of the terrain. Anyone wanting something meaner should take slope 9 on the Gaiskogel, 2.1 kilometres that turn very steep in the lower section.

The 2026/27 season runs from 27 November 2026 to 11 April 2027. Adult day passes cost 50.50 EUR in low season, 63.00 EUR in regular season and 66.50 EUR in high season, with youth at 40.50 EUR to 53.00 EUR. Ski bus line 420 runs Innsbruck, Völs, Kematen, Sellrain, Gries im Sellrain and Kühtai, and the drive takes about 40 minutes.

Pro Tip: Go between 27 November and 28 December 2026 or from 3 April 2027 for the 50.50 EUR low-season day pass, which saves 16.00 EUR against the high-season rate. The Kühtai to Hochoetz link doubles the terrain on the same ticket if the Drei-Seen-Bahn queue builds.
