From the Coal Market, the Gdansk Christmas market continues along Bogusławskiego Street, past the Great Armoury and down Tkacka Street. The Great Armoury, a richly decorated 17th-century building in the Flemish Mannerist style, makes a spectacular backdrop for the stalls.

These narrower lanes have a cosier atmosphere than the main square, with themed food streets, gift stalls and festive lights strung between the old houses. Look out for the market's chocolate and cinnamon lanes, packed with sweet treats.

The lanes lead directly towards the Royal Way, so it is easy to continue from the market to the heart of the Main Town.

Pro Tip: Walk through the Great Armoury passage after dark, when the facade is lit up, then follow Tkacka Street to the Long Market.
