3818 Grindelwald, Switzerland
The Grindelwald side of that same 103 km network starts at Grindelwald Terminal, Grundstrasse 54, a building with its own BOB railway station served directly from Interlaken Ost and 1,032 parking spaces. Two gondola arms leave from under the same roof. The Eiger Express is a tricable gondola 6,483 m long with 44 cabins of 26 seats, moving 2,200 people an hour to Eigergletscher at 2,320 m in 15 minutes, which puts you on the Kleine Scheidegg sector well before anyone routing up by rack railway. The second arm is a 10-seat gondola to Männlichen, 19 minutes to a station at 2,225 to 2,230 m below the 2,343 m summit.
Männlichen is a sub-area of Grindelwald-Wengen, not a resort in its own right: the 103 km, the 21 lifts and the 1,034 m to 2,320 m range quoted in the previous entry are the same numbers, counted once. Choosing between this entry and the last one is a choice of doorway, not a choice of ski area. The practical difference is the approach. Grindelwald gives you high-capacity gondolas and a car park; Wengen gives you a car-free village and a slower, prettier climb. Season 21 November 2026 to 25 April 2027, adult day CHF 79 on the Skipass Jungfrau, with no area-only alternative on sale for 2026/27.
Pro Tip: Get off the train at Grindelwald Terminal, not at Grindelwald village station. They are different stops, and only the Terminal has the Eiger Express and the Männlichen gondola. Riders holding a Jungfrau Travel Pass ride the Eiger Express free; Swiss Travel Pass, Half-Fare Card and Berner Oberland Pass holders pay 50 per cent, though none of those covers the ski lifts themselves.
