Hotels near Old Town Christmas Market on Dome Square

The Old Town Christmas market fills Dome Square beneath Riga Cathedral, the largest medieval church in the Baltic states, whose famous organ was one of the largest in the world when it was built in the 19th century. The 2026 market runs from 27 November to 4 January 2027, and it was first held here in 2000.

Wooden stalls sell Latvian handicrafts such as knitted mittens with traditional patterns, amber jewellery, linen, wooden toys and candles, along with honey, rye bread and smoked meats. Father Christmas has a lodge on the square, and children can ride a carousel and meet his helpers.
