The Phi Phi Islands lie 45 km south-east of Phuket in Krabi Province - the most-photographed island group in Thailand. Phi Phi Don is the main inhabited island with bungalow accommodation; Phi Phi Leh is uninhabited and contains Maya Bay (famously featured in the film The Beach), which reopened in 2022 after a 4-year closure for coral and beach recovery. Limestone karst cliffs rise 200-300 metres straight from the turquoise water.
