Hotels near Rossio Christmas Market

The Rossio Christmas market fills Praça Dom Pedro IV, known as Rossio, one of Lisbon's most famous squares, with its wave-patterned cobblestones and baroque fountains. More than 70 stalls sell handicrafts, decorations and Portuguese food and drink, with views up to São Jorge Castle.

In 2025, the market ran from 14 November to 21 December, with a daily Christmas parade at 5pm, a Christmas train and live music on many evenings, according to Portuguese newspaper Diário de Notícias. The 2026 dates had not been announced at the time of writing.

It is the most central Lisbon Christmas market. The square is surrounded by historic cafés and shops, and the Baixa's streets are decorated with lights.

Pro Tip: Try a glass of ginjinha, Lisbon's cherry liqueur, at one of the tiny bars near Rossio, then watch the daily Christmas parade at 5pm.
