Swab Barcelona is an independent contemporary art fair founded in 2006, and it returns from 8 to 11 October 2026 to the Fira de Barcelona grounds at Montjuïc. It gathers around sixty international galleries with a focus on emerging, multidisciplinary work, and its Emerging, SEED and MyFAF programmes showcase younger artists and first-time collectors.

The scale is deliberately human: you can see the whole fair in two to three hours, and many works are priced for new buyers. It makes a good rainy-day option, and it sits right beside the Magic Fountain and the stairs up to the MNAC, so it combines easily with the next entry.

Tickets are sold through the fair website and at the entrance. The 8 October opening is usually for professionals and invited guests, with public days following.

Pro Tip: Visit on Friday 9 October in the afternoon, when public attendance is lighter than at the weekend, then walk up the escalators behind the fair to the MNAC terrace for sunset.
