Świdnicka, 50-529 Wrocław, Poland
Wrocław is famous for its hundreds of small bronze dwarfs (krasnale), hidden on pavements, windowsills and lamp posts across the city. The tradition began as a symbol of the anti-communist Orange Alternative movement and has grown into one of the city's best-loved attractions.
Hunting for dwarfs is a fun activity for families during a visit to the Christmas market, and the market itself has used dwarf themes in its decorations. The first dwarf, Papa Krasnal, stands on Świdnicka Street near the Rynek.
Maps of the dwarfs are available from the tourist information centre on the Rynek, and there is also an official app.
Pro Tip: Pick up a dwarf map at the tourist information centre and see how many you can find around the Rynek. Start with Papa Krasnal on Świdnicka Street.
