Hong Kong visa requirements by nationality
Whether you need a visa for Hong Kong depends on the passport you hold. Of the 15 most-checked passports, 12 enter visa-free and 1 need to apply for something in advance. Visa-free stays run to 90 days or 180 days or 30 days depending on nationality. Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China with its own immigration control, so its entry rules are separate from those for mainland China. A mainland Chinese visa does not admit you to Hong Kong.
