What is trip1 MCP?
trip1 is a hotel booking platform with over 3 million hotels in 190+ countries, payable in Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDC, and 120+ other cryptocurrencies. trip1 also runs a public MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so AI agents like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor can search and book hotels for you.
How the payment link works - step by step
Step 1: The agent prepares the booking
The agent searches, picks a rate with you, and calls purchase_hotel with the guest details.
Step 2: trip1 returns a CoinGate URL
Because the agent can't sign an x402 payment, trip1 returns a CoinGate (trip1's crypto payment provider) checkout link. Most agents show it to you as a clickable link.
Step 3: Pay in your browser
Open the link, choose your coin and network, and send the exact amount before the payment window closes. The window is usually 20 minutes.
Step 4: The agent confirms the booking
The agent calls get_order_details until the hotel's supplier reference appears. We also email your confirmation.
Important: Check the network shown in the CoinGate window before you send. Crypto sent on the wrong network can't be reversed.
