My crypto payment window expired - what do I do?
If your trip1 crypto payment window expired before you paid, start a new checkout. If you already sent crypto, CoinGate may still accept it or offer a refund.
Updated
We know it's frustrating when a payment times out. Here's how to sort it out quickly.
Why the payment window expires
Crypto prices move fast. CoinGate locks the exchange rate only inside the payment window, so the invoice expires to protect both you and the hotel from price swings.
If you haven't sent any crypto
- Go back to the hotel on trip1.com
- Check that the room and rate are still available, as prices can change
- Start a new checkout and send the payment as soon as the invoice appears
If you already sent crypto
Check the payment page first. If your payment arrived late, CoinGate may process it automatically. If it can't, a refund option appears on the same page.
Tips to pay before the window closes
- Have your wallet open and funded before you start checkout
- Use a faster network, such as the Lightning Network for Bitcoin or USDC on a Layer 2 like Arbitrum or Base
- If you pay from an exchange, check its withdrawal time first, as some exchanges hold withdrawals for review
