How to connect an AI agent
Step 1: Confirm your AI client supports MCP
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to external services. Check your client's settings for MCP or "connector" support.
Step 2: Add trip1's MCP server
Enter trip1's MCP server URL in your client's connector settings. Setup instructions and the current URL are on the trip1 integrations page.
Step 3: Ask your assistant to search
Try "find me a hotel in Barcelona for next weekend". The AI will query trip1's live inventory and return options with prices in your preferred currency.
What AI agents can and can't do
Can
- Search hotels by destination, dates, and preferences.
- Return prices, room types, cancellation policies, and reviews.
- Prepare a booking and hand you a link to the CoinGate crypto invoice.
Can't
- Complete a crypto payment on your behalf - that requires your wallet's signature, which stays with you.
- Access your trip1 account credentials or booking history unless you specifically link the account.
