How fast is a Binance Pay booking on trip1?
When you pay with Binance Pay on trip1, the payment itself confirms instantly. CoinGate (trip1's crypto payment provider) receives confirmation from Binance the moment you approve the payment in the Binance app with your Pay PIN or 2FA.
trip1 then confirms your hotel booking and emails you the details. In most cases the confirmation email arrives within a few minutes of paying.
Why Binance Pay is faster than an on-chain payment
A standard crypto payment travels over a blockchain, so it has to wait for network confirmations. Depending on the coin and how busy the network is, that can take anywhere from seconds to an hour.
Binance Pay works differently. It's an internal transfer between your Binance account and the merchant's Binance account, so:
- No block confirmations - nothing goes on-chain, so there's nothing to wait for
- Same speed for every coin - BTC, ETH, BNB and USDC all confirm instantly
- Exact amount every time - the Binance app fills in the amount, so you can't send too little or too much
- No expired payment after you confirm - the payment lands while the CoinGate countdown timer is still running
The one thing to watch is the timer itself. You still need to scan the QR code and confirm in the Binance app before the CoinGate countdown runs out. If it expires first, restart checkout to get a fresh QR code.
