Hotels near Montreal Christmas Village

The Montreal Christmas Village (Village de Noël de Montréal), run by a non-profit organisation of volunteers since 2015, recreates the spirit of a traditional European Christmas market beside the historic Atwater Market. Around 40 chalets house local artisans, along with Santa's Workshop, shows and an open-air cinema.

The 2026 Christmas Village runs from 26 November to 24 December, according to Bonjour Québec, the province's official tourism site, and entry is free. It is famous for its Montreal Raclette Party, a gourmet evening that draws thousands of people.

The Art Deco Atwater Market, with its clock tower, is one of the city's best food markets, and the nearby Lachine Canal makes a pleasant winter walk.

Pro Tip: Visit the Christmas Village on a weekend, when the most activities take place, and buy local cheeses, maple products and baked goods inside Atwater Market.
