NBA Opening Night: Knicks vs 76ers
Ring night at Madison Square Garden, and LeBron James’ first game as a 76er.
About NBA Opening Night: Knicks vs 76ers
Opening Night of the 2026/27 NBA season is a tripleheader, and the 7 p.m. ET game is at Madison Square Garden: the Knicks raise their championship banner, then play the 76ers. LeBron James’ first night in Philadelphia colours is also his first regular-season game at the Garden as a visitor in a 76ers jersey.
The Garden sits on Seventh Avenue at 33rd Street, directly above Penn Station. The 1, 2 and 3 trains stop at 34th Street-Penn Station, and the A, C and E stop one block west. Midtown South and Koreatown hotels are a short walk; Chelsea and the Flatiron are about 15 minutes on foot.
Ring night and a national television slot both move Midtown rooms early. Arriving by train beats driving: Penn Station is the busiest rail station in the country, and Seventh Avenue is closed to through traffic around tip-off.
