Hotels in Rovinj

Rovinj is a picture-perfect fishing town on the western coast of Croatia's Istrian peninsula, where pastel houses crowd a rocky headland crowned by the bell tower of St. Euphemia's church. Once a Venetian stronghold, it retains a distinctly Italian character in its narrow cobbled streets, waterfront cafés, and bilingual signs.

The old town is a maze of steep lanes, art studios, and hidden squares tumbling down to the harbour, while the surrounding coast is dotted with pine-covered islands and swimming coves. The Golden Cape forest park, the vineyards and hill towns of inland Istria, and the truffle country around Motovun are all within easy reach.

Rovinj is compact, romantic, and one of the Adriatic's most photogenic towns. It's busiest in summer when the coast fills up, but late spring and early autumn bring warm seas, gentler crowds, and Istria's renowned food and wine.
