Budva is the heart of the Montenegrin coast, a walled medieval town fringed by sandy beaches and a string of resorts along the Budva Riviera on the Adriatic. One of the oldest settlements on the eastern Adriatic, it pairs a compact stone old town with a modern marina, lively nightlife, and some of the busiest beaches in the country.

The Venetian-era Stari Grad is a cluster of churches, ramparts, and narrow lanes jutting out on a small peninsula, while beaches like Mogren and Slovenska Plaža sit close by. The famous islet resort of Sveti Stefan, the bay of Kotor, and the beaches of the wider Riviera are all a short drive along the coast.

Budva is walkable, warm, and firmly geared to summer holidaymakers, with a Mediterranean climate and a party reputation. July and August are hot and crowded, while June and September offer warm seas with a more relaxed pace.
