07800 Ibiza, Illes Balears, Spain
The harbour district of Ibiza Town (Sa Marina and the port promenade) is the most pleasant part of the lower town for an evening stroll and drink before heading to dinner. The quay is lined with moored yachts and the bars along Carrer de la Mare de Deu serve decent wine at bar prices. The whole area is walkable and relaxed in the early evening before the club crowd arrives.
The ferry terminal at the southern end of the port handles the regular Formentera crossings (Balearia and Trasmapi, roughly 20-30 mins, from about 22 EUR each way). For couples with a free day, the hop to Formentera - which has Playa de ses Illetes, arguably the best beach in the Balearics - is worth adding to any Ibiza itinerary.
Pro Tip: The terrace at the Bar Sa Creu (Placa d'Espanya, 07800), just outside the Dalt Vila gate, is one of the quietest spots in the lower town for early evening drinks and has a direct view up the illuminated Portal de ses Taules gateway. Tables fill up after 8 PM - arrive earlier for the best position.
