Hotels in Armenia

Armenia was the first country in the world to adopt Christianity as a state religion, in 301 AD, and the evidence is everywhere: stone monasteries wedged into gorges at Geghard and Tatev, carved khachkar crosses in remote graveyards, and the 4,000-year-old winemaking tradition rediscovered in the caves of Areni. Yerevan is a pink-tufa city of open-air cafes and late dinners with Mount Ararat filling the skyline across a closed border in Turkey. Hiking, cable cars and Soviet-era oddities fill the space between, and prices remain low by any European standard.
