This semi-private guided tour of the Paris Catacombs takes no more than six people into the city's underground ossuary, where millions of skeletons are arranged with eerie artistry. Your expert guide tells stories of the Catacombs' past, wartime bunkers, resident ghosts and legendary crypts, including the final resting places of beheaded revolutionaries. Skip-the-line entry and exclusive access to restricted chambers are included.
The tour lasts up to an hour and a half, runs in English and is operated by LivTours. It starts at 1 Avenue du Colonel Henri Rol-Tanguy in the 14th arrondissement, at the Catacombs entrance by Denfert-Rochereau (metro lines 4 and 6, RER B). There are no booking fees, and all sales are final.
Hotels in the 14th arrondissement and Montparnasse are a short walk from Denfert-Rochereau, and the Luxembourg Gardens and Saint-Germain are a few metro stops north.
