Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and the largest of its seven emirates by area. Set on a flat island in the Arabian Gulf, the city is calmer and more spread out than its neighbour Dubai, with wide boulevards, long Corniche promenades, and a strong cultural focus.
