2Rossio Christmas Market - In the Heart of the Baixa

The Rossio Christmas market fills Praça Dom Pedro IV, known as Rossio, one of Lisbon's most famous squares, with its wave-patterned cobblestones and baroque fountains. More than 70 stalls sell handicrafts, decorations and Portuguese food and drink, with views up to São Jorge Castle.
In 2025, the market ran from 14 November to 21 December, with a daily Christmas parade at 5pm, a Christmas train and live music on many evenings, according to Portuguese newspaper Diário de Notícias. The 2026 dates had not been announced at the time of writing.
It is the most central Lisbon Christmas market. The square is surrounded by historic cafés and shops, and the Baixa's streets are decorated with lights.
3Figueira Christmas Gourmet - Festive Food in Praça da Figueira

Just next to Rossio, Praça da Figueira hosts the Figueira Christmas Gourmet market, focusing on Portuguese food and drink. Stalls sell cheeses, cured meats, wines, sweets and festive treats, making it a good place to buy edible gifts.
In 2025, the Figueira Christmas Gourmet ran from 20 November to 21 December, according to listings. The square, with its equestrian statue of King João I, sits at the foot of the hill leading up to São Jorge Castle and the Mouraria district.

4São Pedro de Alcântara Viewpoint - Christmas Market with a View

The São Pedro de Alcântara viewpoint, a terraced garden at the edge of the Bairro Alto, offers one of the best views over Lisbon, looking across to São Jorge Castle and the Baixa. In 2025, it hosted a Christmas market with an 11-metre Christmas tree and a Santa's house, open until 26 December, according to Diário de Notícias.
The viewpoint is especially beautiful at sunset, when the city lights come on below. It can be reached on foot or by the historic Glória funicular from Restauradores.
The surrounding Bairro Alto and Chiado districts are full of restaurants, bars and shops for an evening out.
5Campo Pequeno Christmas Market - Shopping at the Bullring

The Campo Pequeno Christmas market is held at the historic Campo Pequeno bullring, a striking 19th-century building in neo-Moorish style. It is one of the most popular places in Lisbon for Christmas shopping, with stalls selling crafts, fashion, gifts and food.
The market has been open from 11am to 9pm, according to listings, making it a convenient option for an evening visit. Check the 2026 dates and hours before you go. It is the best Lisbon Christmas market for gift shopping in the evenings.
The building's red-brick facade and domes make it a striking backdrop, especially when lit up at night.
